Audi Santa Barbara celebrates 200th national hire within the Veterans to Technicians program sponsored by Audi.

Audi Santa Barbara is a proud supporter of its community, both local and national. As part of Santa Barbara Auto Group, the team at Audi Santa Barbara participates in various fundraisers, sponsorships, and service opportunities throughout the year. Additionally, Audi Santa Barbara proudly supports national efforts made on behalf of the Audi brand as well such as the Veterans to Technicians program which matches former military personnel with jobs as Audi service technicians.

Veterans to Technicians Hiring Program

For Audi employees, this is a unique service because it does more than “give back” to the community, it brings the community in to build one another up together. The Veterans to Technicians program acknowledges the unique skillset military veterans have following their service and encourages them to put those skills to use in a positive new way within their community. Participants are screened and trained by Audi to become Audi certified technicians. For two years the program has worked to match veterans with the right job within Audi’s growing network of dealerships across the country.

200th Hire Marks Important Milestone

Fittingly, Audi celebrated the 200th hire within the Veterans to Technicians program during Independence week this July. This is a substantial milestone because the program focuses on quality over quantity. Each participant is carefully screened, trained, and placed to provide the best fit and benefit for both the dealership and the veteran – setting each other up for success. To have accomplished this with 200 individuals marks a substantial success.

Participating dealerships have reported that participants in the program are a huge asset because they bring a high degree of technical competence and exceptional work ethics including discipline, maturity, quality control, and detail-oriented performance.

Veterans have been placed in Audi dealerships across the country, some hiring as many as 10 individuals through the program. In return, the individuals placed within Audi are pleased to be part of a company that values innovation and encourages employees to be creative problem-solvers.   Audi also offers a rewarding career path for those interested in a long-term growth experience within the industry.

As a member of the Santa Barbara community, Audi Santa Barbara understands and appreciates the immense service veterans provide for our country and is eager to support and recognize these outstanding individuals.

Santa Barbara Auto Group Introduces Audi Veterans To Technicians Program

2014-02-05T04:00:09+00:00February 5th, 2014|Audi, Other News, Santa Barbara Auto Group|

Skilled Veterans are invited to join Santa Barbara Auto Group through the Audi Veterans to Technicians Program

Santa Barbara, CA February 5, 2014 – Santa Barbara Auto Group is pleased to join with Audi of America, Inc. and inviting Veterans to join the Audi family. Audi of America, Inc. recently established the Audi Veterans to Technicians Program to meet the growing dealership demand for talented and experienced technicians. The purpose of the program is to attract skilled former military maintenance technicians to become brand-certified Audi Service Technicians, Shop Foreman, and Service Consultants, which will expand the pool of qualified personnel employed by authorized Audi dealerships.

Military Veterans go through extensive training and real life experience. The mechanical skills, personal integrity, and cooperative team work approach that they learned in the military can easily be transferred to civilian life. According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, America’s veterans represent seven percent of the work force. Additionally, 90% separate from the military under the age of 35 allowing them the opportunity to apply the skills they learned in the military into a second career.

As the Audi brand continues to grow, so does the need for qualified technicians. “It’s hard to find good technicians who are honest, dedicated, and highly trained, but we have found a great cross over in skill set with the military” shares Thomas Fox, Service Director at Santa Barbara Auto Group. The Audi Technician Program recognizes and fosters diligence, creative thinking, and cooperation. They have proven themselves to be loyal and dedicated to what they do.

The Audi Veterans to Technicians Program provides highly skilled Veterans with the opportunity to apply and qualify for potential employment. Veterans will receive individualized support from a team of dedicated program staff coordinating the entire hiring process. All candidates must have received an honorable discharge from the military, have three or more years of technical training and performance, a valid driver’s license, and a clean driving record. Veteran candidates with a strong military maintenance background, who meet Audi foundational skills criteria, will be pre-screened to ensure they have the potential to meet dealership Service Technician, Shop Foreman, or Service Consultant requirements.

Audi Santa Barbara recently trained and hired a Veteran through the program and “couldn’t be more pleased with the talent, training, and integrity of our new team member” beams Audi Santa Barbara Service Director, Thomas Fox. “We are ready to expand our service team and are looking to the Audi Veterans to Technicians Program to find more skilled candidates.”

Santa Barbara Auto Group is pleased to announce this opportunity to welcome skilled Veterans into our organization and culture through the Audi Veterans to Technicians Program. This program is one of several exciting initiatives designed to expand the quality, diversity and depth of the Audi Service Technician, Shop Foreman and Service Consultant workforce. Interested Veterans should apply at www.audivets.com/veterans.html by clicking on the Apply for Jobs Now button.
