What You Should Know About the 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Van
This upcoming year, Mercedes’s flagship Sprinter Van will introduce the first complete model replacement since 2006
In 2019, Mercedes will introduce the third generation of their globally revered Sprinter Van—a vehicle that has been one of their best sellers since its introduction in 1995. With hopes that this model will be more than just a vehicle, Volker Mornhinweg, head of Mercedes-Benz Vans, indicated that it will attempt to integrate a “digital platform for the movement of goods and provision of services.”
“We will now open up the digital era in this segment with this new model,” Mornhinweg said. “It will help our customers make their business more efficient in a connected world – in the form of hardware in the vehicle and with new, connected services.” (Trucks.com)
Adding a digital layer to this vehicle is an exciting new concept, but, obviously, that is not the only impressive thing about it.
The Most Versatile Vehicle
One of the most amazing things about the 2019 Mercedes Sprinter Van is the countless number of variations that the buyer can choose from. Being a globally sought after vehicle used for both commercial and personal use, Mercedes felt the Sprinter’s customers should have the ability to tailor the van to fit the vision that they have in mind.
The new Sprinter will come with three different engine choices: diesel, gasoline and electric. Though the electric version may take longer to get to the U.S. than the other two options, Mercedes has established their efficacy in electric motors, so we’re sure it will be worth the wait. The new Sprinter will have a number of body configurations that meet the needs for nearly every commercial van use, as well as for recreational purposes. The customer can choose between a regular cab, which is most common for delivery vans, and a crew cab equipped for commercial or personal transportation. The largest configuration offered can seat up to twenty passengers. The Sprinter comes in four different body lengths and three roof heights offering different window configurations based on the vehicle’s intended use. Some versions will even come equipped for grocery and prepared food delivery with different climate zones in the cargo area.
With some of Mercedes’s most innovative safety technology, like adaptive cruise control and automatic emergency braking, the Sprinter will exceed customer expectations in every category.
