The All New 2018 Land Rover Defender Keeps Originality with Added Modern Features
Land Rover enhances its classic model in the 2018 Land Rover Defender
Land Rover ended production of the Land Rover Defender in 2016, after a long run of about 60 years. Taking the best of this long-lasting model, Land Rover’s all-new 2018 Land Rover Defender is keeping the original rugged exterior, honing engine capabilities and modern internal features. The new features plan to appeal to customers old and new, says Land Rover British design director, Gerry McGovern. “This was a vehicle that for a very long time was the emotional core of our brand. In order to move our brand forward we need to create desirable and relevant vehicles to appeal to a wider group of customers,” said McGovern. The new Land Rover Defender will hit the streets in 2018 to commemorate Land Rover’s 70th anniversary. Land Rover plans to produce approximately 30,000 next year, labeling this versatile wonder a “go-anywhere SUV”.
