Porsche Cayenne Delivers in 2015 – More Performance, Comfort, and Efficiency

Four distinct models offer customers even more options in 2015

Santa Barbara, CA August 2014 – The Porsche Cayenne is a proven customer favorite, recently winning the highest APEAL for the Midsize Premium Sports Car category in the J.D. Power Automotive Performance, Execution and Layout (APEAL) Study. Porsche set out to take the next generation of Porsche to a new level, offering four distinct models: Cayenne Diesel, Cayenne S, Cayenne Turbo, and Cayenne S E-Hybrid.  This line up provides a broader range for the environmentally conscious to the power hungry. Across all Cayenne models you can see a sharper design, boosted power and torque while improving efficiency, and an extensive set of premium standard options.

Strong Demand

Porsche6The Porsche Cayenne was first introduced in 2002 and took the SUV segment to a new premium level, allowing customers to drive a true sports car with the utility needed. Customer demand has grown since its first hit the streets. From 2002-2010 there were 276,000 first generation Cayenne’s produced. Then from 2010-2014 there have been 303,000 second generation vehicles produced. The market it ready, and Porsche is set to launch four new Cayenne models to the market.

Cayenne S E-Hybrid

This marks Porsche’s third model offered in a plug-in hybrid and the first offering in the premium SUV segment. The Cayenne S E-Hybrid features a lithium-ion traction battery with an energy capacity of 10.8 kWh, this allows for pure electric driving. The all-electric top speed is 78 mph, thanks to an electric motor of 95 hp. The traction battery can be charged from the electric power grid or while you are driving offering flexibility and Porsche Car Connect comes standard allowing you to pull vehicle date directly from your smart phone.

Combine the electric power with a 3.0 liter supercharged V6 (333 hp), and you have a  total system power of 416 hp at 5,500 rpm and a total system torque of 435 lb.-ft. from 1,250 to 4,000 rpm. This allows you to drive all electric or with speeds of a sports car: zero to 62 mph in 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 151 mph.

MSRPs are excluding destination charges of $995.
