Plant Closures

Honda Motor Co, Toyota Corp, Nissan Co have temporarily shut down all plant operations to asses damages stemming from the massive 8.9 magnitude earthquake that struck off the coast of Tokyo, Japan on Friday. The closures could affect production of various models from all three manufactures, due to building damages and fires that have broken out in 2 of the Nissan plants alone. The companies evacuated the buildings immediately after the quake and at least one worker has been pronounced dead from Honda’s R&D facility.
