New Technology coming to the Audi TT at Audi Santa Barbara

Technology is ever changing and Audi is leading the pack with its next generation technology. At the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas and at the North American International Auto Show consumers got a sneak peak at the new technology that will be available when the Audi TT hits showrooms later this year. Audi is well known for having some of the best interiors in the business and they have raised the bar even

Forget the Gauges

Gone are the traditional gauges that only inform the driver of their speed. What is now being called by Audi as the “virtual cockpit” is a 12.3-inch LCD screen sitting in front of the driver. The customizable dash has the ability to toggle between the classic view with the speedometer in the foreground to the Audi’s Multi-Media Interface (MMI) mode where the prominent elements include a full screen navigation map and media lists and smaller virtual gauges. Other vehicles feature secondary information screens, but Audi has eliminated the center-stack screen traditionally used for MMI infotainment system.

Almost all functions can be controlled from the further developed MMI control knob that is now mounted behind the stick. Its large rotary pushbutton also serves as a touchpad allowing the driver to write letters with a finger in place of scrolling through the alphabet. The control knob can also be pushed in four directions and is surrounded on three sides by four buttons which allow access to the main menu, submenus, options and back buttons. The new user interface has an intuitive layout similar to that of a smart phone allowing drivers to access needed information at lightning speed with just a few quick inputs. This cleaned up the dashboard puts you in control of the information you want to see and when you want to see it.

Climate Control at your Fingertips

Now that the driver has one place to look for all information, Audi is also changing how you regulate the cabin temperature.  Instead of having the climate control knobs on the center console, the driver and passenger can change the interior temperature by twisting the knob in the center of the vents. The vents display both the air temperature and the fan speed making it easy to adjust the temperature to your desired comfort level. Combined with the clean lines from the customizable dash the vents now become functional ornaments for the sleek interior.

Audi continues to be a leader in innovation and is bringing those innovations to the interior to give you the best driving experience. We want to invite Santa Barbara drivers to stop by the Audi Santa Barbara dealership to learn more about the exciting and real technology and performance advancements implemented in the latest Audi models.
