2011 was a good year overall for the automotive industry as a whole and U.S cars especially. To the surprise of most Chrysler ended the year selling a staggering 1.4 million cars, at a 26.2% gain overall, leading the pack of all manufactures.

Although not all car makers saw a increase in sales, the always industry leading Honda and Toyota saw sales actually fall a little during 2011, partially due to the Tsunami and large vehicle recalls.

However it made other manufactures such as Hyundai and Volkswagen overtook those top spots, with Hyundai making a 20% jump from 2010 to 2011 making its best year in the U.S to date.

Car and Driver recently drove the all new 2012 Chevy Cruze hatchback for the first time. Of course the Cruze was Chevy’s number one selling vehicle for 2010, so it is to no surprise that they have decided to try and build on that success.

Although it will only be released in Europe (for now), it is a car that much of the US will have its eye on. For the entire article and review of the Cruze go to CarandDriver.com .
